NAMI Southeast Colorado is a nonprofit organization established in 2014 as an affiliate of NAMI National and a member of NAMI Colorado.
At NAMI Southeast Colorado, we stand as a beacon of hope and understanding for anyone grappling with mental illnesses and their treatment options. As a non-profit entity, our mission is to offer unwavering support, comprehensive education, and vigorous advocacy across southeastern Colorado. We are dedicated to the well-being of individuals and families navigating the complexities of mental illness.
As a proud affiliate of NAMI Colorado, NAMI Southeast Colorado is integral to the National Alliance on Mental Illness – the largest grassroots mental health organization in the nation, devoted to creating a brighter future for the countless Americans living with mental illness. Our team, comprising dedicated volunteers and leaders, is relentless in our efforts to heighten awareness and provide indispensable educational resources, advocacy, and support groups. We are dedicated to enriching the lives of community members affected by mental illness, as well as their families and caregivers.
Our service area is Pueblo, Canon City, and La Junta.

MISSION
NAMI Southeast Colorado is dedicated to shattering stigma and creating a mental wellness community through the power of knowledge, support, advocacy, and awareness.
BOARD MEMBER EXPECTATIONS
-Attend a monthly board meeting (We meet the 3rd Monday of the month at 6:00PM virtually).
-Participate on one Committee (Executive, NAMI on Campus, Fremont County, Outreach, Programs, and Nominating Committee)
-Attend or assist with occasional in-person special events, like NAMIWalks.
-Contribute 4-6 hours per month.
-Become a member of NAMI ($40.00 per year regular membership/$5.00 per year Open Door Membership for individuals with limited financial resources). Becoming a member is required to be on the board of NAMI Southeast Colorado. Membership gives the individual access to a "Members Only" section on the NAMI National Website.
-Must live in Pueblo, Canon City, or La Junta.
-Make a commitment to serve for two years.
PREFERRED SKILLS
-Be organized and detail-oriented
-Be reliable and attend meetings
-Special Skills: Grant Writing, Volunteer Coordination, Training skills, financial reviews, special events, fundraising, outreach and nonprofit development.
