About the Market: Join us at Focus Points' seasonal pay-what-you-can farmers' market. The Huerta Urbana Market serves as a fun, educational, equitable, and thriving community gathering space that is affordable for all!
The market operates in collaboration with vendors and community partners using a pay-what-you-can model supporting access to fresh, healthy produce as well as local economic development. The market’s pay-what-you-can model provides affordable access to healthy, seasonal produce and other pantry essentials by giving customers market bucks to cover their initial or partial purchases.
Funds raised through the market will go back into a fund to continue reimbursing farmers and producers while covering the cost of additional groceries for community members in need. Additionally, grant funding and donations will allow organizers to reimburse vendors so that equity for farmers is included and no stakeholder forgoes their needs.
Training and Task: Volunteers will support the Huerta Urbana Farmer's Market from set-up to take-down. Tasks include placing folding tables, supporting the Huerta produce booth, greeting market visitors, directing vendors, and disassembling market furniture (folding tables, chairs, and tents). Training will be provided on-site with the Huerta team.
Dress Code and Supplies: Focus Points is a family resource center, so we ask that volunteers come prepared with comfortable and appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes. Please bring any items you may need for your experience including a water bottle, snacks, and sunscreen.
Upon registration, please sign and submit the volunteer waiver to Jazlynne@focuspoints.org.
