Jeffco Eats - Warehouse Volunteers
The Need:
In Colorado's Jefferson County, over 30,000 children benefit from subsidized meals at school. However, some of these children may encounter empty cupboards at home, at night, and over the weekend, leading to instances of hunger.
Who We Are:
We operate as a mobile grocery, providing weekly assistance to over 30 Title One schools and Section 8 apartments in Jefferson County throughout the year; including the summer months.
Position Overview:
As a Warehouse Volunteer, you will be an essential part of our team, helping to facilitate operations and ensure distribution of food to families in need. This position involves unloading and organizing food inventory, packing 'Totes for Hope' and pantry boxes going out to our schools and maintaining a clean and efficient warehouse environment.
As a Sub:
You will be available on one of our warehouse days (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning from 8am-12pm) on a "on call" basis if one of our volunteers calls out.
This role provides a hands-on opportunity to make a tangible difference in the fight against food insecurity in our community.
Volunteer Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to be "on call"
Available during the week; Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday mornings 8am-12pm
Time commitment: 2-4 hours.
Wear casual/comfy work clothes, close-toed shoes, and work gloves are highly recommended.
