- A SEPT Facilitator helps create and uphold a trauma free environment for all parties while supervising the parents and child/ren interactions during the time they are visiting or during the exchange. It requires you to:
- Remain in the same approximate area as the family you’re supervising.
- Document and take objective notes on arrivals, departures, and any concerns or rule violations that may occur in a visit.
- Intervene if a child is in emotional or physical distress.
- To become a SEPT Facilitator, you will complete an in person interview, if accepted you will be required to complete an initial 15 hours of training and 8 hours of observation on site.
Volunteers are asked to sign up for 2 – 3 shifts per month. Each shift is approximately 4 hours. The visitation shifts are Tuesday – Friday from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and Saturday from 9:45 am – 5:45 pm (split shifts 9:45 am –1:45 pm and 1:45 pm – 5:45 pm).
