Where you'll be:
Jackson Lake State Park, known as an “oasis in the plains,” offers boating, birding, fishing, swimming, and water skiing. With 3,303 acres of land and water, it's a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, attracting boaters, hunters, anglers, campers, and wildlife observers alike.
What you'll do:
Join us for a spring day on the Front Range at Jackson Lake State Park! In partnership with CPW, you'll work alongside 40 volunteers to perform critical trail maintenance construct about a quarter mile of new trail. Open to volunteers aged 14 and up, tasks will range from easy to more difficult.
Why it's important:
Trail maintenance matters from an ecological and environmental standpoint because it ensures a safe and sustainable route for people to use, which keeps the surrounding habitat safe and minimizes the human impacts on flora and fauna, especially in high-use areas like State Parks.
This project will also improve campground access for campers and remove a social trail, allowing vegetation to re-establish by reducing foot traffic along the trail.
