Program: Gateway Administration
Location: Cedar Creek Pub, 2100 N Ursula St. Aurora, CO 80045
Reports to: Bessana Kendig, Volunteer Coordinator
Shift: February 27th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Tasks: Take posed and candid pictures at the event of attendees and staff members.
Skills Required: Looking for above average photography skills, at least a unique eye for portraiture. Prospective volunteers could be art students looking to build on their skills, young professionals enthusiastic to add to their portfolio, or seasoned photographers looking for one-time opportunities to support their local community.
Other: One drink ticket and light appetizers will be provided. Event scheduled to go as late as 9pm. Photographers with their own digital camera are preferred. Volunteers' applicants for this position will also be considered for future events hosted by Gateway this year, this event we will need 1-2 people.
Summary: Gateway Domestic Violence Services is the only 24/7 safe and confidential shelter for survivors of domestic violence in all of Aurora and Arapahoe county. In the United States, 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner. It’s paramount that we shine a light on domestic violence and spread the word about our organization as a community resource. Our organization relies on active volunteers like you to help continue outreach to help as many as possible.

In working with Gateway, we would promote your brand / business on our website, through social media channels, newsletter (4500 contacts) and on any marketing materials related to the event. You will also learn more about Gateway’s vision, our programming including the crisis hotline, shelters, counseling, and court advocacy services, as well as networking with our community over a bite to eat and great drinks at the local Cedar Creek Pub.
