TRU Care trains and connects volunteers. As a TRU Volunteer you get to choose:
- the location,
- time/date,
- person (s) with medical conditions that limit their lives
from a list of well-cared-for patients who are seeking a companion.
Training is thorough*, homes are vetted and once you learn the ropes, you set out to meaningful interactions, providing someone with your best.
*Volunteer training is mandated by Medicare and takes about 20 hours on a self-paced basis. before Volunteering. In the U.S., for the safety of the patients, this training is required for all volunteers, at any Hospice, by law.
