Description

As a TRU Volunteer you get to choose:

  • the location,
  • time/date,
  • and person (age, gender, medical condition)

from a list of well-cared-for patients in hospice care. Most live in their own homes, others are cared for in assistant living facilities

You can imagine being that person, who seeks someone to talk with, laugh with, and share experiences with. Come experience the connection you can create with a person in need. Our hospice patients are living out their lives in their own home, or at a care facility, where they request companionship.

  • TRU Care- trains and connects volunteers.
  • Training is thorough*, homes are vetted and once you learn the ropes, you set out to meaningful interactions, providing someone with your best.

*Volunteer training is mandated by Medicare and takes about 20 hours on a self-paced basis. before Volunteering. In the U.S., for the safety of the patients, this training is required for all volunteers, at any Hospice, by law.
