About Us:
Scholars Unlimited is an afterschool and summer program for elementary school students living in metro Denver. It’s our organizational commitment to empower our scholars to achieve academic success and social-emotional growth. Each year, we have the opportunity to partner with Denver, Aurora, Sheridan, and Westminster school districts and serve hundreds of students each year. 

Volunteer Description: 
This year, Scholars Unlimited is celebrating 30 years of literacy intervention and social emotional growth! We are throwing a 30th Birthday Bash for our scholars and their families on Saturday, July 15th from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Did you know Scholars Unlimited started in the Park Hill neighborhood? We have the thrilling opportunity to host our bash at Park Hill Elementary School, located at 5050 E. 19th Ave. Denver, CO 80220. 

We cannot wait to bring our community together, and we NEED YOUR HELP to make this day successful! As a volunteer, you have the chance to choose between 1 of 3 shifts: Set Up/Check-In, Event, and Clean Up. Please feel free to sign up for more than one, however, it's not required. The volunteer shifts occur 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM, and are broken down as the following: 9:30 - 11:30 AM, 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM, and 1:00 - 3:00 PM. As a thank you, we will provide a LIGHT meal, snacks, and water. 

Volunteer Responsibilities:  

Set Up/Check-In (9:30 - 11:30 AM)
Volunteer during this shift will help set up the venue space, and check-in families for the event. We plan to have activities for our scholars and their families to interact with, such as tug of war and kickball. We also will need to set up an arts and crafts area and food area for caterers. As the event is starting, and families are checking in, volunteers will provide them with their Bingo card, wristbands (if applicable), and answer any necessary questions. 

Event (11:00 AM - 1:30 PM) 
Volunteers during this shift will need to bring the FUN! As our scholars and their families are enjoying the event, we need help ensuring the kiddos are being safe with the activities, and there is some structure with the different games. For the activities, we want to have a tug of war game, kickball, water balloons, etc. We also need help distributing prizes for the Bingo game winners. 

Clean Up (1:00 - 3:00 PM) 
While not so much of a glamours title, still an important shift! Volunteers during this shift will help the team clean up, and reset the venue. Hopefully the shift won't last the entire time, however, we just want to make sure Park Hill looks exactly how we found it. 

Why Should You Sign Up? 
As a special thank you, we will gift you with Scholars Unlimited swag, provide a LIGHT meal, snacks and water. You also have the opportunity to interact with incredible scholars, their families, and the Scholars Unlimited team. 

What Should You Bring? 
Other than your fun, exciting self - we suggest you bring comfortable clothing, especially ones you don't mind if they get water on. We also suggest you bring your best sun protection as we expect a hot day.
