You may have heard that a couple of severe storms came through Morrison the last two days with a lot of rain, wind and hail!! Unfortunately, that has caused A LOT of damage on Dinosaur Ridge including rockfall and mudslides which are now impeding access to the Bones and Bulges fossil sites, and making other sites quite slippery and dangerous. (See damage photos below)
We could use several strong volunteers help to help shovel, rake and clean out these sites!
The crew will gather with our maintenance staff on Sunday, June 25, from 9am-noon
Meet the Dinosaur Ridge Main Visitor Center or better yet, park at our Discovery Center or West gate on Hwy 93 (near Red Rocks entrance #1) and walk up to the sites. Wear sturdy shoes, bring work gloves, shovels, rakes etc. (we have some of those but helpful to bring your own if you have them.)
Please pass along to anyone you know who might be able to help.
Thank you!
