The Gathering Place provides low-barrier, trauma-informed care to women, gender-diverse people, and children facing homelessness and instability. We address the root causes of poverty, marginalization, and oppression, offering comprehensive services that guide our members from crisis to stability. With access to basic needs like food, shelter, and clothing, as well as long-term support such as housing assistance and mental health care, we empower individuals to rebuild their lives—all at no cost to those we serve.
Meal Sponsorship offers a chance to provide a direct service to our members, while also helping The Gathering Place offset our meal program budget costs. Groups agree to fund, prepare, and serve breakfast or lunch to our members. All ingredients are conveniently ready upon a group's arrival, and meal preparations are guided by our Food Program staff.
Breakfast – 3-6 volunteers needed from 7:00am-11:00am and a $1,250 donation, Monday through Friday.
Lunch – 3-6 volunteers needed from 9:00am-2:00pm and a $1,500 donation on a Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
Your donation covers all the costs associated with that meal period, including a fully operating kitchen, equipment, and overhead.
All volunteers must be 18+. No experience required.
