In 2024, YANAM2M launched Strong Mamas, Thriving Babies (SMTB), a four-part program that builds strong connections between mothers, families, and communities. SMTB begins in hospitals, where staff meet new mothers at their bedside before discharge, ensuring they leave already linked to support. It continues through a custom app that fosters peer-to-peer connection, discussion groups, and opportunities to plan playdates—helping mothers form their own “digital village.” Beyond digital support, YANAM2M offers in-person gatherings, peer mentorship, and direct partnerships with trusted organizations. These connections help mothers navigate the complex transition into parenthood, reducing feelings of isolation, strengthening family bonds, and encouraging healthy development for children. YANAM2M’s vision is rooted in the understanding that when mothers thrive, families and communities thrive. By bridging hospitals with local networks, offering culturally competent peer support, and ensuring 24/7 access to connection, we are breaking the silence around maternal mental health. Through this innovative program, we are not only changing the immediate postpartum experience—we are investing in the long-term wellbeing of mothers, children, and communities.
