We take an innovative, preventative approach to improving foster children’s well-being and outcomes. We go upstream and provide children in care with the positive childhood experiences and relationships they need to thrive. By creating access to individualized experiences and enriching opportunities, we help mitigate the long-term impacts of trauma and adversity. We focus on enhancing the well-being of foster youth by ensuring access to opportunities and by building their community to foster a sense of belonging, connectedness, and inclusion.
Cobbled Streets clears a channel to provide access to transformative experiences that foster children otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach. Foster children are a vulnerable population. An upstream approach is essential to prevent the predictable negative outcomes documented in decades of research. We need to address these issues early, during their childhood, and not wait until they are emancipating and on the verge of homelessness, not wait until they are a young adult with a substance abuse problem, not wait until they have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder or depression.
What We Do
Cobbled Streets goes upstream to provide children in foster and kinship care with the positive childhood experiences and relationships they need to have a healthy sense of well-being and thrive. By creating access to individualized experiences and enriching opportunities, we help mitigate the long-term impacts of trauma and adversity.
