Douglas County Libraries

Who We Are

Douglas County Libraries elevates our community by inspiring a love of reading, discovery and connection.

What We Do

Douglas County Libraries is one of the largest library systems in Colorado, and we play a vital role in the life of our community with programs and services for kids, teens and adults. We lend nearly 6 million books, DVDs, magazines, e-books and audiobooks every year, including more children’s materials than any other Colorado library. Our seven locations offer a large collection of popular materials; children’s books; reference materials and research tools; downloadable audio, video and e-books; wireless access; public internet stations; and friendly, professional staff. We also provide reading recommendations and online access to the DCL Archives & Local History and community information. We offer signature programs for all ages, more than 75 Storytimes each week, children’s and teen writing groups, book clubs, used book sales, and a variety of interesting events that engage, educate and entertain customers of all ages. Study rooms, large meeting rooms, and event venues are available to the public.
