Who We Are
The Challenge Foundation helps smart, ambitious, and hard-working students from underserved communities through educational opportunities to open doors and unlock potential. Challenge takes a whole-student approach, awarding tuition scholarships and individualized support services to students from underserved communities. From middle school, at a college preparatory school, and continuing through college, we see the big picture: the potential in our scholars and their dreams of higher education, the impact they will make in their communities, and the way that giving back to the world is a privilege we should all strive to earn.
What We Do
What sets The Challenge Foundation apart from other programs is our long-term, whole-student approach to support. We designed our programs to provide a positive and dynamic environment for both academic and extracurricular pursuits, based on our belief that a child’s expanded environment plays a critical role in all aspects of his or her success.
We believe that blending the science of education with the heart of compassion creates a recipe for meaningful achievement. Challenge Scholars face complex and unique obstacles; it is our goal to reveal a world of opportunity through quality academic experiences and to provide both broad and detailed support. Our approach is built upon a solid foundation of positive and meaningful relationships. Challenge’s philosophy is altruistic, but also practical.
Challenge Foundation staff, mentors, and partner schools work closely with students and their families, in a spirit of trust and collaboration. Additionally, the Challenge Foundation directs resources through strong community partnerships to address scholar and family needs, including braces and glasses, mental health support, and responding to families in crisis.
Our unique approach allows our scholars to pursue their goals and chart their own course. Their individual talents and strengths, coupled with a solid framework of community support, empowers our scholars to achieve their dreams.
