Who We Are

Our mission is to provide volunteer advocacy and support for at-risk children and youth, empowering families to thrive. Our vision is a community that values and strengthens children and families from all backgrounds and life experiences, providing opportunities to thrive and build successful lives.

What We Do

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization with the mission to provide court-appointed volunteer advocacy for children and youth from the child welfare system so every child can be safe, have a permanent home, and have the opportunity to thrive.

CASA Volunteers are trained to represent the best interests of child victims of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse and neglect who are currently in the child welfare system. CASA Volunteers are supervised by CASA team members and work alongside the child’s legal and professional team. They ensure that the child’s physical, mental, educational, and emotional needs are being met, and advocate for the child in court, all while supporting them in their journey to find a safe and permanent home.

Research has shown that children with a CASA Volunteer are:

  • More likely to find a safe, permanent home
  • More likely to succeed in school
  • Half as likely to re-enter the foster care system
