Who We Are
At Spark the Change Colorado, we are a community of innovators, connectors and collaborators. Our mission is to spark change and inspire a movement of good through the power of service, volunteerism, and civic engagement. We help volunteers, nonprofits, and companies connect to meaningful service and learning that makes a lasting impact.
We operate a Statewide Mental Wellness Program whose main purpose is to increase access to mental health services for low income and vulnerable Coloradans experiencing barriers to care. This is a volunteer-driven program that harnesses the power of volunteer professionals to meet the most pressing needs in mental health access and workforce development.
What We Do
The Mental Wellness Program engages professional mental health volunteers to provide mental wellness supports to low income and vulnerable Coloradans experiencing barriers to accessing care. Barriers may include being uninsured, unable to find an appropriate/available clinician through other avenues of care (lengthy waitlist times, etc.), unable to afford treatment, or unable to afford insurance co-pays or deductibles. Each year, the program connects over 6,000 individuals to free counseling and mental health services in their communities.
(*Note: this is a short term program that does NOT offer crisis services, inpatient services, or medication management.)
