Volunteer: Join a Dedicated Team of Volunteers

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of survivors of domestic violence by joining our dedicated team at Alternative Horizons! Alternative Horizons Corp (AHC) has been supporting survivors of domestic violence since 1978. In these uncertain times AHC needs your help more than ever. As a volunteer, you’ll receive comprehensive training, ongoing support from our passionate staff, and resources for your own self-care. Plus, you’ll connect with like-minded individuals who share your commitment to making a difference. Your time and effort can empower survivors and help create a safer community for everyone.

We offer a range of volunteer opportunities assisting with:

        Public awareness campaigns       Community outreach events        Social media management          Community awareness and education during Domestic Violence Awareness Month including on Fort Lewis  Campus

Staffing the 24/7 Support Line:

       Skills Needed        Listening        Empathy        Open mindedness         The desire to help others         Ability to withhold judgment        The ability to retain confidentiality


Whether you can provide emotional support, help with outreach, or assist in events, your involvement matters greatly.

Next Training will be September 19, 20 and 26. The 19 and 20 will be two full days and the 26 will be a half day.
