Our mission is to prepare Colorado’s kids to be the innovators of the future by combining the arts, sciences, and technology with creativity, teamwork, and problem solving. The role of the Co-Regional Director in Destination Imagination Colorado is divided into four main functions: Team Recruitment, Volunteer Management, Financial Management and Tournament Director. There are many volunteers in place to aid and assist in these duties. You will be working with the Regional Director to share these duties. Team Recruitment: Regional Directors will work with schools in their region to market the Destination Imagination program. This will consist of: • Meeting with Gifted and Talented Staff in area school districts Volunteer Management: Work with current DI Colorado volunteers in your area, including team managers and Regional Challenge Masters to inform them of South Region DI events and training opportunities Plan and coordinate training events with Regional Challenge Masters Work with Regional Challenge Masters as a steering committee for the Region Create and distribute newsletters and/or emails to inform all interested parties of DI Colorado webinars and training events as well as local training events Tournament Director Using DI, Inc procedures and checklists, plan and implement the South Region Regional Tournament in March Work with the State Office beginning in August to plan and implement tournament including tournament venue, site selection, scheduling and challenge requirements Financial Manager Manage the finances of the South Region Work with DICO to maintain a working budget for North Metro DI Deposit and account for all registration fees from teams Pay all bills associated with South Region DI The Destination Imagination State Office will train and support the Co-Regional Director throughout the year, including weekly one on one phone calls, monthly Regional Director Planning meetings, and support from other State Level Volunteers.
