Volunteer: Volunteer Development Analyst

RecoveryWorks seeks one to two volunteers passionate about supporting the needs of those individuals in our community that are experiencing homelessness. If you are an interested, thoughtful, and organized person that wants to give back to your community while learning about cutting-edge nonprofit development strategies, please apply. Our organization seeks assistance with the following activities: 

Support the Development Director with developing, refining, and improving a variety of business development processes in relation to data research, compilation and uploading to our new customer relationship management (CRM) platform.  Engage in self-directed research to help the organization with partner and community outreach, engagement and promotion, corporate outreach, and other important sector engagement.  Conduct best practice research on emerging models in relation to social enterprise programs.  Support the Development Director to develop and implement a variety of business processes for Colorado’s new Homeless Contribution Tax Credit program.  Help the Development Director ensure all donors are acknowledged, donations are tracked, and proper documentation is completed in our CRM.  Research and compile best and promising practices in relation to development and fundraising to support the growth of our nonprofit; develop new business processes and workflows as needed.  Author small development related pieces for newsletters, social media, board packets, or our website.

Volunteer: Volunteer Artist/Art Therapist

RecoveryWorks (RW) seeks an individual passionate about supporting the needs of those individuals in our community that are experiencing homelessness. Specifically, we are seeking 1-2 volunteers that are willing to come to our location to lead a class on painting, art, or art therapy. Here is some additional information:

RecoveryWorks clients may be actively engaged in recovery and may be in different places in relation to their trauma journey. A teacher experienced with trauma-informed approaches is a plus. RecoveryWorks has limited art supplies. However, RW would be able to purchase supplies for clients to engage in art activities. Volunteers will need to be comfortable working with clients with different learning styles. Finally, all volunteers must fill out a volunteer form, sign a waiver, and submit to a criminal background check.

RecoveryWorks has some, but limited, computer resources for clients. Most clients have their own personal mobile devices. RecoveryWorks is flexible on what computer-related topics are taught. We understand volunteers have different experience, skills and interests in these areas. The volunteers must be experienced with providing training for audiences with different learning styles and skill levels. Finally, all volunteers must fill out a volunteer form, sign a waiver, and submit to a criminal background check.

Practitioners experienced with trauma-informed approaches are a plus. We ask the practitioner to provide their own music. RecoveryWorks can provide yoga mats for our clients. Finally, all volunteers must fill out a volunteer form, sign a waiver, and submit to a criminal background check.

RecoveryWorks seeks volunteers to prepare a dinner meal at their home for approximately thirteen individuals. There is no set menu. Ideas include a main dish with 1-2 sides (e.g., salad, fruit, bread) and dessert. The meals do not need to be delivered hot but they do need to be fully cooked. The RecoveryWorks Center does not have an oven but food can be reheated in our microwaves and toaster oven. Meals need to be delivered to the RecoveryWorks Center at 7011 West Colfax Ave, Lakewood, Colorado 80214 by 4:30pm. Meals can be dropped off as early as 8:30am.

Data elements could include things like income, race/ethnicity, access to affordable housing, health care outcomes, exposure to violence, crime or stress, and access to health care, healthy and affordable food, transit, and employment and job training. Identify any urban renewal, revitalization, low-income, or shortage designations that our programs reside in.  Compile data in tools that can be used by staff and board members for reports, grant applications, donor engagement, and a variety of communication and media elements.
