Volunteer: Make an Environmental Impact at Habitat's ReStores!

Everyday is different at Habitat Metro Denver's ReStores.

No matter the day, you will support community members who rely on Habitat ReStores as a low-cost option for repairing their homes, you will help give items a new life cycle, and you will help generate critical revenue for Habitat's affordable homeownership programs.


Habitat ReStores are home improvement outlets that sell new and gently used appliances, furniture, cabinets, building materials, and more at discount prices. All proceeds go towards our affordable homeownership programs that support hardworking, deserving individuals and families.

Tasks might include:

Greet and assist customers Answer phone inquiries Complete paperwork for purchased items Accept items at the donation dock Keep the store clean and organized Represent Habitat in a positive manner

Volunteer: Learn Construction Skills & Repair Homes in Denver!

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver partners with existing homeowners on essential home repair projects so they can live safely and affordably in their homes for years to come.

Habitat Metro Denver offers external home repair in 17 metro Denver neighborhoods, including Northeast Park Hill, East Colfax, Globeville, Elyria Swansea and Southwest Denver. These home repair projects can include a new roof, new siding and paint, porch repairs and energy efficiency projects such as new doors and windows. Partnering homeowners only pay about 5 to 10% of the cost of the repairs. Starting in August 2025, projects will be available in the City of Commerce City with a high need for volunteers. 

Volunteers help with the repair projects; no experience is necessary! Our staff will teach you everything you need to know. 

Projects are available Wednesdays - Saturdays and are full day opportunities.

Volunteer: Construction Tool Organizer – Help Keep Our Build Sites Running Smoothly!

Location: New Construction Sites in Arvada and Denver

Time Commitment: 3-4 hours per week during construction hours (Wednesday – Saturday 8am-4pm). Hours are flexible.

Responsibilities

Organize tools and materials in designated containers Evaluate safety and functionality of tools and equipment Make minor repairs and replace consumable parts Balance and redistribute non-labeled tools across containers Take inventory and maintain supply lists Assist volunteers with tool/material questions Complete basic electrical cord repairs Create demo boards and assist with tool education Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to pass a background check Interest in or knowledge of construction tools and materials Strong organizational skills Willingness to support volunteers with varying levels of construction experience Desire to be part of a mission-driven, inclusive team

Position Overview

As a Dock Assistant, you’ll be the friendly face that welcomes donors and helps process incoming donations. This role is essential to keeping the ReStore running smoothly and ensuring donated items are ready for resale to support Habitat’s mission. We have a need in our Arvada and Aurora ReStores.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist donors dropping off items

Unload donations safely and efficiently

Sort, clean, and prepare items for pricing and display

Communicate with ReStore staff about donation quality and needs

Maintain a clean and organized dock area

Provide excellent customer service to donors and shoppers

Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to pass a background check

Comfortable with physical tasks (lifting, moving items)

Friendly and welcoming demeanor

Interest in retail, sustainability, or community service
