Why we want you: Integrated Family Community Services (IFCS) is a small organization with a large impact. Food Market usage has skyrocketed in the years following initial COVID-19 shutdowns. More than ever before, IFCS relies on volunteer support to fulfil our mission of nourishing lives.

What’s in it for you?  IFCS relies on community support to fulfill our mission. Volunteers often find themselves nourished in the process of serving others.

Tasks & Activities:

Warmly welcome and check in participants Kindly assist participants in shopping for free groceries Courteously greet donors and help them unload donations Light stocking, ensuring shelves remain organized Identify expiration dates and damage of donated food, and sort accordingly Complete light custodial duties, including: sweeping, and trash removal Lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, standing, and reaching will be involved Participate in special events as interested

The skills you need:

Excellent customer service skills Ability to manage a workplace that may be fast-paced or slow based on participant interest Ability to be on your feet for entire shift Basic or bilingual Spanish or Vietnamese knowledge highly desired Background check required for long term volunteers Civil Rights training via link provided to you for long term volunteers

General information about the position:
IFCS Volunteer Core consists of both long term and short term volunteers who enjoy giving back to their community. Market volunteers utilize excellent customer service skills to provide equitable distribution of free groceries to IFCS food program participants. We welcome interested individuals to visit our website and register for a shift. No long term commitment is required. Those who wish to volunteer long term will be offered additional orientation.
