Volunteer: Resource Center Store VolunteerSummary: The role of our Resource Center Store Volunteer is to create a welcoming atmosphere by providing a dignified and respectful experience through upholding A Precious Child's core values and mission. Children and families shop in our store, which provides clothing, home goods, food and other essential needs items, all donated items are provided at no charge to the families we serve. This position assists clients during their shopping visit, replenishes and organizes areas throughout the store and assist with client check out. Responsibilities: · Help maintain a clean space and ensure it is ready for clients. · Stocking Inventory on store floor. · Assists as a personal shopper to clients as needed. · Checkout clients. · Continuous communication with the Resource Center Manager. · Supports in bringing shopping carts inside. Requirements: · Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds. · Be on their feet for long periods of time, if not the full shift. · Have a friendly demeanor towards other volunteers, staff, and all clients. · Ability to multitask. · Be detail oriented. · Must be 16 years of age or older. Training & Supervision: · Complete Volunteer Waiver Form and Orientation. · Training will be provided by Empowerment Resource Center Manager. Time Commitment: · Shifts available Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM in 2-hour increments. · Volunteers will sign up for shifts through an online portal. Children and families shop in our Resource Center, which is set up like a retail store, for clothing items and basic essentials, all provided at no charge. Responsibilities: · Help quality check, organize, sort and hang donations. · Notify staff of any potential safety hazards within the Donation Center. · Work in a team setting to accomplish daily tasks and meet the needs of our families. · Maintain a clean & organized work space to create a positive experience for all volunteers. Requirements: · Volunteers ages 5-12 are able to volunteer with an adult. · Volunteers ages 13 and up are able to volunteer on their own. · Must wear close toed shoes. · Have a friendly and welcoming demeanor toward clients, volunteers, donors and staff. · Respect and maintain confidentiality of A Precious Child clients, volunteers, partners, and donors. · Flexibility to tackle varying tasks throughout shift. · Be able to work with other volunteers if needed.
