The tasks are as follows: SET UP Prop back door for those entering from back Arrange chairs in a circle, move cart out of the way off to one side Set up additional chairs against wall next to both entrances to the studio for personal belongings to be stowed by dancers Close curtains in front of mirrors DURING CLASS Demonstrate seated version of movement and other modifications throughout class Help create a welcoming and supportive environment by greeting everyone, building relationships, and reminding everyone you’re there to assist and learn how best to support them throughout class Dance your heart out from a seated position even if nobody else is using a chair. Volunteer: CASA Advocate D&N ProgramAs a CASA volunteer, you will be responsible for carrying a case to include child/ren of a family, frequently with complex family structures. Your duties and time commitments will include: Impartial observation and fact-finding of all aspects of the child/ren’s lives to be able to make recommendations to the court. Interviewing parents and other family members/kin of the child/ren to assess their perspectives on the needs of the child/ren. (Regular contact with non-custodial parents suggested every 4 to 6 weeks.) Determine whether treatment plans for child/ren and parents are being followed and services are in place. Twice monthly visits with the child/ren, at least one of which is in the home where the child/ren is/are placed. Visits are coordinated with the caregivers. The advocate may transport child/ren to activities as is age appropriate. Visits typically last between twenty minutes to several hours. Attendance at court hearings and all other case-related meetings. All events are held during normal business hours requiring flexibility of the schedule of the advocate. Court hearings can last between 10 minutes to several days depending on the type of proceeding. Other meetings are at least an hour to 90 minutes in duration. Twice monthly visits with the child/ren, at least one of which is in the home where the child/ren is/are placed. Visits are coordinated with the caregivers. Benefits in Action at Marian House provides education, benefits navigation, and application assistance onsite at the Marian House weekly (every Wednesday) during the soup kitchen and SET Clinic hours from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Shift Available: Sundays 2-4pm Program: City of Westminster Volunteer tech tutors help College Hill library patrons one-on-one with using computers, tech devices like smartphones and tablets, mobile apps and general internet navigation. Patrons can bring their own devices or use a library’s public computer alongside the tutor. Tech tutors will work with patrons that attend the weekly drop-in program on Sundays for up to 30 minutes at a time.
