OutPaws is in search of talented, creative and committed board members. OutPaws' Sweet Home Sanctuary is a non-profit farm animal sanctuary located in Peyton, Colorado.
Are you passionate about helping animals and have strong professional credentials or a network that can benefit a fast-growing nonprofit organization? OutPaws is currently recruiting new volunteer board members to fill critical roles within our organization.

General Benefits of Board Membership:

General Requirements:
· Board members serve terms of three years (with a probationary 3 month initial period); board members may serve consecutive terms.
· Board members are required to attend all board meetings (one per month) and are required to “attend” email Board meetings to address specific issues at hand.
· Board members must maintain knowledge of the organization and personal commitment to its goals and objectives.

Specifically, OutPaws is seeking candidates for the following board positions:
Fundraising Committee Lead
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to access, build and leverage a network of donors and sponsors
· Fundraising experience and/or sales experience a plus
· Self-starter with leadership skills
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain the organization’s mission and programs
· Knowledge of grant-writing, a plus, but not a requirement
· Excellent organizational skills with strong follow-through
· Willingness to ask for money
Treasurer, Finance Committee Lead
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Experience with nonprofit accounting and financial management
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain nonprofit finance policies and procedures to the Board
· Experience with developing an operational budget, and expertise in tracking and reporting income and expenditures to a budget
· Knowledge of state and federal nonprofit compliance requirements and ability to fulfill reporting obligations
· Presentation of monthly financial reports at board meetings
Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· A dynamic individual who is intelligent, resourceful and proactive
· A current or retired marketing/PR professional or a student actively enrolled in final years of studies in PR or marketing
· Skills and experience with social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
· Ability to manage and coordinate other volunteers to accomplish targeted programs
· Self-starter with leadership skills
