- Have 5 - 40 hours in a week to volunteer?
- Want to feel more connected to your community?
- Like to meet like-minded people that would welcome your companionship?
- Have skills, talents, and experience that could be of service?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, our Senior Companion Program would love to hear from you!
Seniors Companions must:
- Meet our income eligibility.
- Complete the application process.
- Pass the State and FBI fingerprint check and National sex offender check.
Senior Companions can receive:
- A small stipend of $4.00 /service hour.
- $5.00 lunch reimbursement.
- Mileage reimbursement.
- Paid holidays for helping a neighbor.
- Money earned is not considered income, is non-taxable by law, and does not affect any benefits (SNAP, Medicaid).
The range of activities and support is broad, including but not limited to:
- Building relationships
- Cooking and grocery shopping together
- Reading or helping with mail
- Providing transportation to appointments or social events
- And more!
