Volunteer: Outreach & Special Events Volunteer

Outreach Events Volunteer: Do you like talking to people and learning or teaching about dinosaurs, fossils and science? Dinosaur Ridge participates in a variety of community festivals, fairs, and school events and we welcome volunteers to help at educational booths featuring replica fossils, dinosaur models and educational information and occasionally assist with an educational activity for families & children. Most events take place on weekends, but there are occasional weekday or weeknight events as well. It's a lot of fun and it's an easy role to learn. We provide you with a well-stocked bin of materials, banner etc. to take to the event to be our outreach ambassador. Shifts are generally 4 hours in length and for larger events, multiple volunteers will be scheduled.

· parking direction

· demonstrating easy-to-learn activities such as fossil sifting, replica track painting, rock and mineral ID etc. (Training provided the day of the event for all hands-on activities)
