A hot meal can do wonders for families who spend long days caring for their seriously ill children. We are looking for groups of 4-10 people to prepare a menu, purchase the ingredients, cook and serve the meal from scratch to our families in our kitchen. This is a great opportunity for team building, friends and family, church groups, and more!

Sign Up:

We need 1 volunteer to act as the Group Leader and register with our VolunteerHub site to reserve a date. The Group Leader must be 18 years of age or older. Once the date is reserved, we will reach out with registration instructions for your other volunteers to sign up. Group Leaders will be able to view who has signed up in VolunteerHub. Volunteer Group Requirements: This opportunity is for groups of 4-10 volunteers. All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Volunteers between the age of 14-17 must have adult chaperones. Volunteers ages 14-17 will not register online and will be given waivers to fill out and bring to the volunteer opportunity.

Our chef-led experience makes it easy for groups of 3-8 people to experience the joy of feeding families without all the stress of coordinating and menu shopping. To participate, groups are asked to make a tax-deductible donation of $500 to support our meal program. Chef will lead your group in prepping and cooking a delicious dinner to serve families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Denver or Aurora. This is a great opportunity for team building, friends and family, church groups, and more!

*Chef-led meal experiences are currently available on Tuesdays from 4:00-7:30pm.

Chef will:

· Plan the menu

· Shop for the ingredients

· Provide a chef-led experience, complete with how-to's and pro cooking tips to take with you.

Your Group will:

· Prep and cook a meal with our Chef

· Serve the meal to families staying at RMHC Denver or Aurora

· Clean up and pack up leftovers

The Ronald McDonald House Family Room is located within the new Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at Presbyterian St. Luke's. Volunteers assist in the smooth operation of the Ronald McDonald Family Room ensuring it is a comfortable sanctuary for families of hospitalized children.

Family Room Volunteers:

Serve as a host welcoming and orienting families to room amenities. Maintain cleanliness of room so that it remains a respite spot. Assist families in the use of laundry facilities or the computer station.

Qualifications:

People person; comfortable working with all ages in a relaxed setting. Gift of hospitality helping others to feel welcomed into the space and to be made comfortable during their time in the family room. Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older. Commitment of at least 6 months. (4-hour shifts on a weekly or every other week basis)

As a pet owner, you know how much joy they can bring to you. How about sharing that joy with the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House and join our Dog Therapy team! This opportunity will be available weekly, biweekly, or monthly depending on your schedule. Shifts are available at both our Denver and Aurora locations.

Dog must be registered and remain registered with an accredited Dog Therapy Organization while volunteering for RMHC. Handlers must provide proof of therapy dog vaccinations, liability insurance and all certifications. Handler will remain with their therapy dog at all times while on RMHC property. One handler per dog.

Are you a licensed massage therapist, hairdresser, nail tech, or other licensed professional? We are looking for professionals to provide much needed relief for our guest families staying at the house while their child receives medical treatment at a local hospital.

Host a "Spa Day" or schedule visits as your time allows. Depending on your schedule, this could be a one-time event or monthly volunteer opportunity. Dates and times are flexible. Services can be provided at either our Denver or Aurora location.

Do you love working in the kitchen or have an interest in cooking? We are seeking individuals to assist our Culinary Manager with meal prep or meal service for families staying at the Aurora Ronald McDonald House while their children receive treatment at a local medical facility. Days and times vary.

Volunteers must be 14 years or older. Volunteers ages 14-16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Prep Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with basic meal preparation, following provided prep lists with attention to detail. Utilize basic knife skills and manual coordination under the guidance of experienced staff. Learn and apply fundamental cooking and preparation safety practices under supervision. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety guidelines and best practices. Assist with simple cooking tasks such as searing meats, preparing sauces, and par cooking foods. Gain familiarity with food measurements and basic math skills as needed. Support proper food storage procedures and labeling practices.

Service Duties and Responsibilities:

Help with dinner buffet setup (typical service feeds 40 people) Monitor and replenish buffet as needed Assist guest families as needed Hand wash pots, pans, and cooking utensils and help load dishwashers Clean kitchen counters and dining tables after service Help package leftovers

Qualifications:

Familiarity with health and safety kitchen standards Great teamwork skills Willingness to help where needed Warm and welcoming demeanor Reliable and committed to scheduled volunteer shifts
